WMU

All ladies are welcome to join the WOM groups; the evening group or the daytime group. Check our church calendar for upcoming meeting times and events!

WMU - Missions

Woman’s Missionary Union of Goshen sponsors monthly mission opportunities in which the local church may choose to participate. The varied ministries provide items needed to minister to people locally and abroad by:

· providing ministry to SAFE and Hope Houses, local pregnancy centers and homeless shelters and ministries

· providing support ministries to child protective agencies

· providing carebears and comfort dolls for our local police, fire, and rescue squads

· providing school supplies and other items for children in need beginning the new school year. Items given to the local school for distribution. (Christmas in July/August)

· More  Than Nets - providing mosquito nets for families in Ghana, along with education and evangelism

·         providing a week long experience - "Sleep Away Camp" for Roma children in Romania

·         providing support for Chaplain K. Powell, Goochland WCC - financially and with needed supplies

ALMA HUNT STATE MISSIONS OFFERING

Since 1976, the Alma Hunt Offering has been a joint venture of Woman's Missionary Union of Virginia (WMUV), the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) and the Virginia Baptist Mission Board (VBMB). The portion of the offering we receive provides funding for 100% of WMUV missions and ministries. Through these projects and ministries, our goal is to inspire and equip women to influence the world for Christ.

Your gifts to the Alma Hunt offering allow us to offer mission awareness and other educational opportunities so that women, students and children are equipped to engage in missions. Some of these include: CrossRoads Camp and Conference Center, HOPEevents, HOPEtraining, Mom & Me, Shine, Get-Away and Human Exploitation. Through programs such as Abigail Girls, State Panelists, LITe (Leadership in Training extended), myMission Virginia and Ministry Councils, we offer opportunities to grow leaders of all ages. The Standing Rock mission trip provides opportunities for hands-on-missions - either by being a trip participant or collecting/providing the needed resources. By partnering with VBMB, mission opportunities with Ghana and More Than Nets, Romania Baptists Ruth School and Naomi Center allow us to reach people across the globe. Our Multi-cultural Initiatives and new Sisters Who Care Initiatives have increased the numbers of women and children involved in WMUV projects and ministries.

We ask for both your prayers and support for the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions. We cannot do it without you.
