Oakland Baptist Church was formed in 1854 and is located in rural Louisa County, Virginia and very close to the county line of Goochland. We have a strong membership with an average attendance of 75-85 at our traditional style worship service and 40 at Sunday School each week. We currently have one worship service each week and enjoy Wednesday night fellowship with dinner and Bible Study.
Oakland is a high energy church that focuses many of our activities outwardly to the community, the US and to the world. We are able to organize and execute regular events such as:
- Homecoming
- WMU – Daytime & Evening Groups
- Men’s Prayer Breakfast
- Children’s Consignment Sale Ministry
- Vacation Bible School
- Fall Festival
- Missions
- Carpenters for Christ
- Senior Groups with Community Churches
- Children’s Events such as Breakfast with Santa and Easter Celebration
We are located conveniently between two cities, Richmond and Charlottesville. The area has a lot to offer with its many beautiful local and state parks nearby and where hunting and fishing are very popular.
Oakland is a loving church that cares about each other and our community. We have strong families that span many generations and welcome all into our fellowship.
